Our unique strength stems from the quality of our employees. That is the reason why we permanently invest in their knowledge and their skills.
Investments in education and training amounted to € 3.1 million in 2010. For instance, 64 private banking assistants followed the course DSI Financial Advisor and 48 bankers participated in the Director-Owner course for private bankers and business bankers. For these training courses we made even more use of our own staff. In addition, employees received training in a short space of time in the reporting year in order to comply with the requirements of the Financial Supervision Act (Wft).
Naturally, much attention is paid to the development of talent (Professional Development (PD)) within Van Lanschot. We organise an annual PD day, there are PD lunches, we work with mentors and PD participants are coached intensively. All these activities are intended to accelerate the professional and personal growth of the PD participants. Within this scope, 2010 saw thirteen business projects with a twofold objective: on the one hand, successful finalisation of important projects and, on the other hand, acquisition of practical experience outside the own area of focus of the PD participant. Gathering experience in managing a project formed the general educational goal.
In order to improve alignment with the strategy of Private & Business Banking, the training curriculum of Kempen was redesigned and adjusted where necessary.
